Snapchat has started rolling out the Shared Stories feature. Shared Story allows friends of friends to contribute to your story.
Snapchat friends can also add their friends list to the story, so if you post a video of cooking, friends of friends can also add their stories there.
Like other content, shared stories also disappear after 24 hours. It does not have a chat button because all users may not know each other.
