The Election Commission has stated that in the context of the implementation of the Election Code of Conduct, 2079, it is not allowed to conduct polls using social media contrary to the code of conduct.
In issuing a statement, the commission informed that some people had conducted opinion polls of political party candidates using social networks and published the results, not to do so.
Regarding the implementation of the Election Code of Conduct, 2079 for the purpose of the election of members of the House of Representatives and Members of the Provincial Assembly to be held on November 4, it has been found from the monitoring of the Election Commission that contrary to the code of conduct, some people have used social media to survey the opinions of political party candidates and published the results.
In Section 4 (T) of the Election Code of Conduct 2079, it is clearly stated that from the date of registration of nomination papers of the candidates until the voting is completed, no vote polling or announcement or publication of the results of the polls of candidates or political parties shall be allowed.
In Section 4 (th) of the Code of Conduct, there is a provision that it is not allowed to hold opinions, spread propaganda, produce any electronic material and publish on social media or share the material published by others in order to adversely affect or obstruct the election.
The Election Commission has informed that if anyone acts contrary to the above provisions, action will be taken according to the law.
